When you go to a place that is run by the son of the guy who started Hooters, you have an idea of what kind of establishment you’ll be getting into. Twin Peaks is like Hooters on steroids. Based in Dallas, TX, I had heard about this place before we had any locations here in South Florida. When one just opened up in the last year or so in Davie, we immediately made a point to see what it’s all about.
Twin Peaks Davie Review
The first thing you notice as you get through the doors is a hostess that will make your jaw drop. Here’s how the Wikipedia page for Twin Peaks describes the staff at their restaurants:
The chain is known for having its waitresses dress in revealing uniforms that consist of cleavage- and midriff-revealing red plaid (or sometimes black bikini) tops, as well as khaki short shorts. At other times, waitresses wear revealing seasonal or themed outfits.
That sums it up pretty well. I believe the term for this kind of establishment is a “breastaurant”, and the name fits. If you’re going there for the eye candy, you won’t be disappointed. Sometimes are better than others in terms of the talent, but it certainly beats the service at any other restaurant you can spend your time at.
So with that out of the way — you get the point, the staff is bosomy and wears revealing clothing — let’s get down to the restaurant itself. While the food menu is a little smaller than I’d like to find at a bar and grill, there are still some good eats to be found on there. I’m a big fan of their burgers and they have one that comes with a fried egg (like I love with the Hangover Burger at Duffy’s in Weston), so that is my staple whenever I visit there. The fries are great as well.
Where Twin Peaks really shines is their drink menu. Tons of beers. They have their own brewery that usually has four or five different brews to try out. I’m a big fan of their Knotty Brunette (and the naughty bruntte bartender who serves it). Aside from their microbrews, there’s a huge selection of domestic and imports to choose from, I never know what to get when I’m there. The beer menu is really great here.
The decor at Twin Peaks is a mountain lodge motif and fills every available square inch of wall real estate with televisions. This is a great place to go to if you want to get out with your friends and watch whatever sports game is on — good food, great service, and plenty of screens to enjoy your game.
All in all, while I wish they had a bigger food menu, I can’t argue with all the other positives that you’ll find at Twin Peaks. If this sounds like your kind of place, be sure to click the link below and find the location nearest you (there are five now spread out through Florida).
