Smith and Wollensky Miami

This my favorite South Beach hangout.  I normally don’t sit inside in the formal dining room, but rather I spend my time at the outdoor bar or in the seating by the water.  It reminds me of Blue Moon Fishing Company in Fort Lauderdale, but is much more “Miami” and has a much more sophisticated setting and clientele.  In fact, to compare those two places is unfair, because S & W is my runaway favorite place to hang out, eat, and drink on any given afternoon.

The best place to have a drink or food in Miami Beach, period.

Smith & Wollensky Miami Beach Review

This is situated in South Point, Miami Beach.  The restaurant faces north but the backdrop of this iconic establishment backs up to the government cut.  All of the major cruise ships docked at the Port of Miami leave and return right through this channel, which makes for an up close and personal encounter with various cruise ships, in case you were ever curious as to how large they are or what they look like.

The menu is first class, and has a wide variety of food, but I usually stick with the steaks and seafood.  They have exotic offerings such as a Lobster BLT, and the oysters are always among the best in Miami.  You can sit inside in the very well appointed dining room and host any business occasion there, as many people do. It’s not uncommon to see celebrities here as it’s a very well known hangout in arguably the best location South Beach has to offer. On one of my recent trips, I saw P. Diddy walking in as I was waiting for my vehicle in the valet.  I’ve seen countless other celebrities there as well as met some very interesting people while hanging at the outdoor patio bar.

Smith and Wollensky Bar Miami
The bar is always vibrant and full of Miami’s most beautiful people.

Speaking of bars, there is a very large inside bar is you prefer to avoid the heat or if the weather isn’t cooperating.  Every bartender is a seasoned pro and can make you anything you want and knock it out of the park.  I’ve never had a bad experience eating or drinking here, and it’s among my go-to South Beach bars and restaurants every time I decide to spend time with friends and co-workers in South Beach.
