Hooters Weston Florida

Weston residents can now rejoice as there is a new sports bar in town to compete with the aging Carolina Ale House.  For fans of “breastaurants,” we were told by a bartender that Hooters has been trying to get into Weston for quite some time.  It took many years to get the officials to approve this, but after Mallardi’s Tuscan Grill sadly closed it’s doors about two years ago, the vacant space has now been revamped and is fully operational as the newest addition to the Florida Hooters restaurant chains.

Weston Hooters Review

The City of Weston is notoriously stingy on what types of businesses can operate in their master planned, Disney-esque environment, so it comes as no shock that they didn’t want Hooters and their stigma of being a place men hang out to ogle younger women in the quiet, almost crime-free, affluent city.  In fact, when the rumors started swirling in Facebook groups that the famous wing joint was coming to town, many females voiced their anger and asked why another “sports bar” was coming to town.

Weston has between 60-70,000 residents, including many famous athletes.  It’s one of the most active cities in the U.S., and you an witness this about any time of the day by observing the sheer amount of people running, biking, walking, or attending the many large scale gyms and boutique boot camps that exist in town.  It’s not far fetched to say that Weston has a crowd that craves sports, and the local Regional Park is a testament to the youth involvement in sports.

The outdoor bar is impeccable.

So, to play devils advocate against all the people against “another sports bar” in Weston, there really only exist two competitors:  the aforementioned, falling apart Ale House, and the Weston Duffy’s Sports Grill location, (which may or may not open after COVID-19).  Many people will argue that Jose’s Uncle Al’s and Wings Weston are both sports bars, but both have Sunrise addresses and neither has near the capacity of Ale House, Duffy’s, or Hooters.

Hooters Weston Opening in 2020

Hooters opened in Weston in the Spring of 2020.

The Hooters location in Weston opened up during COVID-19 and offered take-out only for it’s first couple weeks.  When the restaurant was able to open with 50% capacity and social distancing measures, it was a smash hit. There were lines out the door and long wait times were to be expected.  The ownership group behind the Weston Hooters is the same group that owned the now closed Royal Pig in Las Olas, and at least one staff member transitioned into the new restaurant opening.

Hooters in Weston Menu Options

The restaurant features the same famous menu you’ll see at other locations, with their various styles of wings, french fries, hamburgers, and ice cold beer.  Perhaps not as cold as the next door neighbor Davie Twin Peaks famous cold beer, but when we visited it was pretty darn cold!

As fas the decor, it’s classic wood grained Hooters restaurant style, but kicked up with a 2020 feel. This is perhaps the best appointed location of all of the Hooters out there, and it’s loaded with large flat screen televisions, which will give them a HUGE edge during sporting events.

The location is a corner unit that backs up to the water, providing an excellent outdoor setting – either covered by an awning near the bar or uncovered in other areas.  Every detail of the Weston Hooters is covered here, and perhaps the extra time to put into the buildout during the initial COVID-19 stay at home order helped them really tidy up the place.

As usual, the friendly, attractive staff offers service with a smile, although you won’t be able to see it while they are wearing masks.
