I love ice cream, and my nephew does even more! So we were really happy when there was a nice ice cream place around here in Weston. Especially after the old Udder Sweets shut down (and was replaced by Hoffman’s Chocolate in Weston), there was a distinct lack of ice cream places in our town and a need to be filled

As luck would have it, I ended up going to a couple of their locations in the matter of a few days. My lady and I were on our way back from dinner on the riverfront in Fort Lauderdale last week and visited their shop in that area for some dessert. Then a couple days later my nephew was similarly wanting some dessert so we went to the Weston one.

This place is amazing, and it’s ice cream like you’ve never seen it before. They literally make it right in front of you using a liquid nitrogen process. I won’t even begin to describe the science behind it, it’s way over my head, but the fog coming out of the machine as your ice cream is pretty cool to watch.

As you walk in, consistent with the scientific feel behind everything, you’ll see what looks like the periodic table up on the wall, which actually serves as their menu. You start off by choosing a regular sized cup or a large cup (I think around $4.50 and $5.00, respectively), then choose if you want ice cream or yogurt. You then choose your flavor and have a lot of choices there – chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, banana, cake batter, mint and a bunch of others. After that, you can throw in additional toppings at $0.6o apiece. This is where you add chocolate chips, fudge, caramel, oreos, all that good stuff.

After you’ve come up with your formula, it’s ready to be made! I don’t know how it works, but you can see it in action in the embedded video up above. All I know is that it tastes great!

I have a feeling that this is going to become the new trend, just like cupcakes years ago, and Jamba Juice and similar places before that. It was definitely busy at both locations during both of my visits and for good reason! The ice cream was amazing and I loved that you can get it just the way you want it. The first time I went I had a cake batter base with caramel on top, and the second time I went with a banana base and got caramel that time as well. Throw in some chocolate chips on that and I had some great dessert both times.

I will definitely be back and am so glad to have a location so close by here in Weston, as well as near my lady’s in the Wilton Manors area. Looking forward to my next visit!
