Popularity
Visiting the pyramids in Egypt or seeing the Eiffel Tower is a thing most people have on their bucket lists. While it’s not a bad idea, you should try to avoid famously crowded destinations.
A destination with fewer crowds ensures a much more fun and safer experience. Choosing a trip to a small town as opposed to a big tourist city is also a more financially sound decision.
Safety
Picking a destination that has safety as its top priority should be in your best interest. Before choosing a travel spot, check on the local tourism industry there and what they’re doing to keep travelers safe.
The hotel you decide to stay at should also have high safety standards, including cleanliness, strong locks, an emergency call line, available amenities, etc. Think of what’s important to you and make sure the place you pick has everything you need.

The number of days or weeks you have off work is also another important consideration. If you’re unemployed or self-employed, then you have nothing to worry about.
