As you read in my brief author bio at the bottom of this post, I like to spend a lot of time with my nephew. He’s about to turn 11 and he’s one of my best buddies. Great kid! We like to go out to the movies at Weston 8 AMC Theater, go bowling, out to the zoo, Dave & Buster’s, stuff like that.
Mini golf is another one of our favorite activities, and we had gone to Boomers in the Fort Lauderdale area in the past, but they seem to have hit tough times and the last time we went there the mini golf course was in dire need of attention. We then started going to a place in Pembroke Pines and it’s been pretty good to us. Then, through the wonders of this site, a new place came to our radar thanks to our FloridaReviews Instagram account and we couldn’t be happier!
Monster Mini Golf Miramar Review
This place is amazing! It’s inside a plaza in Miramar right off of Miramar Parkway near Hwy 75. Very easy to get to no matter if you’re in the Miami or Fort Lauderdale metro area. They also have a location in Coral Springs but we are yet to visit that one, though I’m assuming it is very similar to this location.
It’s very dark when you go in there but that’s all the ambience they are going for. Everything inside the place is lit up with glow in the dark railings, walls, signage… pretty much everywhere you look it is glowing neon! It makes for a very cool atmosphere and they even have a fog machine to add to the mystique.
There is a full 18 hole mini golf course and I must admit some of them are pretty challenging! We had 3 of us there on this visit and there wasn’t a hole in one all night between us! Usually you luck into one at some point (and we were close a few times!) but no such luck tonight. My nephew crushed my date and me, and he made sure to let us know it for the rest of the night.
The course is laid out really well and has a great variety of holes, lots of twists and turns, long holes that require banking it around a number of bends, some with holes raised up on a mound for a harder tap-in at the end, etc. Lots of variety that you’ll never get bored.
In addition to the golf course they also have an arcade with video games, air hockey and other games. You can win tickets in some of their games and cash them in for prizes like you would at a Dave & Buster’s or other gaming place. They have a couple party rooms that make this a great spot for a fun birthday party. They’ve got you covered for a great night of fun, no matter the occasion! We’ll certainly be back when the mini golf bug bites us again. I’m so glad they reached out to us on social media!
