When we heard hear news about a year and a half ago that the vacant pad building in the shopping center near our house was about to get a new tenant, we were thrilled. When we heard that it was going to be a Duffy’s, we were even more excited.
You see, in our suburb there’s just not a whole lot of options when it comes to a sports bar and grill. Carolina Ale House of Weston was the place to go for this type of food and drink. After that, you’d have to go to an Anthony’s Pizza or a Chili’s. Just not a whole lot of options and Ale House grew stale. Sure, the cigar bar is around the corner, but they don’t have food.
We had a feeling that Duffy’s would soon take over this need in our suburb, and we were right.
Duffy’s Weston FL Review
The first thing we really enjoy at Duffy’s is their happy hour menu. Or “hours” we should say. Drinks are 2-for-1 at all hours there. From open to close, you’re drinking for half off. Of course, this excludes their specialty/craft beers and shots, but everything else – bottoms up!
In addition to the all hours 2-for-1, they also have a great lunchtime happy hour special. From 2pm to 4pm on weekdays they have their “Afternoon Break” time. During this time you get 20% off your order. So when we have a craving for some Duffy’s for lunch, we snack through the morning and take a late lunch and take advantage of the afternoon break.
Even better is the Duffy’s MVP Rewards program. It’s free to join, and every $100 you spend you earn $10.00 in credit to your account to be used whenever you please. On top of that, there’s tiers to their program, and the more you spend in a 12 month period the higher your rewards. Your Afternoon Break discount can increase from 20% to up to 50% with the highest rewards tier, and you can also go to the front of the line if there’s a wait for a table. Loyalty rewarded!
As for the food, they have a robust menu that is constantly updated. We’re partial to the burgers, especially the Hangover Burger which features cheese, bacon and a fried egg. We’ve had the wings there many times and they’re pretty decent. The beef tenderloin tips are great! They surprisingly have a good Shrimp Scampi Pasta if that’s your style, and you can never go wrong with any of their sandwiches. Their rack of ribs is pretty solid as well.
There are TV’s galore in this place (over 80 by estimation the last time I asked the bartender) and they’re always showing all sports, and if there’s something on that you want to watch and it’s not on one of the tubes at that moment, they’re more than happy to make it happen for you.
Lastly, another thing I need to mention is the staff. They’re wonderful. I tend to go for their afternoon lunch break special and have become quite friendly with the daytime bar staff (well, they’re usually there in the evenings/weekends as well). It’s nice having a place where they know your name and, if you’re a creature of habit like me, ask if you’ll be getting your usual beer or food order.
