I’ve been to YOLO (You Only Live Once) a few times and have always had a great time here. Located in the heart of Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, this is a place for all hours, whether it be stopping in for brunch on the weekends or staying out to closing time with some drinks at the bar.
YOLO Fort Lauderdale Review
I have only been here for drinks (at various hours), so I cannot comment on the food but from what I’ve read on other review sites it is quite good in the food department. Brunch is served on the weekends with the option of bottomless Bloody Mary’s or mimosas, just like you’ll find at Blue Moon Fish Co. in Lauderdale by the Sea. They’ll even leave the champagne bottle at your table to top yourself off without having to wait.
You can get an idea of the brunch menu in the photo below.
They have a wide selection of entrees for lunch and dinner, and from what I gather reading other reviews is you must try their salmon burger. I’ll definitely be checking that out sometime. They also have a lot of steaks and other meat entrees, as well as appetizers where apparently the calamari are highly recommended.
As mentioned above, I’ve only been there for drinks and this is a great spot for that. I’ve been there around mid-day when I went with a date to watch the World Cup a couple years ago and it was a great atmosphere in the bar area. The bar opens up to the outdoor seating so it was nice to get some fresh air while still being in the shade. Very comfortable environment, lots of tv’s showing the games going on, and very attentive bar service.
The most recent time I was there was on a Thursday night and a date and I had drinks in the outdoor seating area. They have a full cocktail menu with a lot of delicious sounding drinks to choose from. I’m a big caipirinha fan so I gave theirs a try and was very satisfied with it. After a couple more cocktails I moved on to their extensive beer menu to finish off the night.
As this area can become quite crowded, you can easily get your car parked with valet service offered out in front of the bar, and if valet isn’t your thing there is also a public ramp in the rear of the building for only $5. I didn’t have any trouble finding a spot in the ramp on a Thursday night, despite how much activity was going on in the area.
All in all, this is a great place to stop in for a drink (or two or three…) if you’re looking for a night out in Las Olas, and I’m definitely looking forward to getting a taste of their food menu one of these days. I’ll surely be back again.
